About Preet Mandair
Preet Mandair is a lawyer practicing labour law, employment law, civil litigation, and workplace human rights in the Vancouver office. Preet is dedicated to providing practical and strategic advice to all clients in all aspects of workplace law by understanding and assessing each client’s unique needs and advocating for her clients in a methodical and effective manner.
Preet assists clients with a range of workplace issues, including wrongful dismissal litigation, severance package reviews, settlement negotiations, human rights complaints, WorkSafeBC claims and appeals, union grievances, prohibited actions, workplace investigations, and drafting/reviewing employment contracts. Preet also advises and represents various individuals regarding investigations and disciplinary proceedings before their professional associations or regulatory bodies.
Preet’s approach combines empathy with a results-driven mindset, ensuring that each client feels supported and confident while pursuing the best possible outcome for their case. Prior to joining Taylor Janis, Preet practiced at a regional full-service firm in the Fraser Valley focusing on employment law, estate litigation, and civil litigation matters. She also enjoyed articling at a prominent labour and employment boutique in downtown Vancouver. She obtained her law degree from Thompson Rivers University and studied her final year at the University of British Columbia on a letter-of-permission basis. During law school, she worked as a human resources coordinator for a large financial institution.
In her spare time, Preet enjoys staying active at the gym, film/theatre, and travelling to new places.
Notable Victories
Preet achieved a successful result at a labour arbitration on a contract interpretation disputes relating to wages and whether all staff in the bargaining unit are guaranteed a minimum wage increase according to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
